No Carbomers
These are synthetic ingredients that companies use to suspend ingredients, bind them and thicken products as well as combine high-water ingredients.
No Dimethicone
From the family of silicone which, if not removed correctly, can seal block pores and can contribute to acne, blackheads and trapped dirt. The industry is divided on this one as it is a texture enhancer. Our in-house testing found it a key contributor to creating black heads and very difficult to remove, contributing to blocked pores.
No EDTA
It is used to stabilise synthetic ingredient that pushes other ingredients deeper to give more effect. also known as Disodium which causes long-term issues in the skin. And is highly pollutive in the environment and when washed down the sink to aquatic life.
No Liquid Petroleum
At first, these ingredients can give the impression they are soothing the skin when they are just covering it. However, as time passes, the skin begins to dry out, requiring you to apply more, so the cycle starts. The skin becomes drier, and so on. It can become flaky and worse than the initial condition when you stop using it. In some cases when you read the ingredients on the back of these products, it says "not for long-term use" I wonder how long that is defined as?
No Nanomaterials
Are microscopic particles that penetrate the skin, and, at present, the science community are not certain of the effect they can have on the body. Adding the word nano means that the ingredient measures
less than 100m.
No Nylon
Is used to make products feel nice and give slip and slide. They are inert and, at present, are not known to cause issues to the skin; however, they pollute rivers and are forms of liquid plastic that, when washed down the sink, run free as microparticles pollute our
environment and the life that lives there.
